South Africa national football team hosted the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, and has been drawn against Iraq, New Zealand and Spain for the group stage. South Africa football team coming through the group stages with a win over New Zealand and a draw with Iraq, despite a loss to Spain. They then lost in the semi-finals to Brazil. Currently Joel Santana signed to coach South Africa football team until 2010.
